The Defender is a fictional melee class for Stick Ranger.
Overview[]
The Defender is a class built to tank a lot of hits. It does very little damage on its own, but can support a team by protecting them from opposing attacks. Between high LP, the ability to increase physical DEF, magical DEF, block rate and even weapons with special effects, it is by far the toughest class around. It also has a unique AI that makes the Defender rush in front of a teammate (the closest one) whenever it attacks an enemy or gets hit, with the one getting hit having priority. A Defender can detect such actions from range 200.

*The Block Rate and Magic DEF do not stack with other items, such as Black/Purple crystal. Thus, when calculating damage/block percentage, both are treated separately.
"Redirect Damage" means that if despite the Defender's efforts a teammate does take a hit, then the indicated percentage of the time all the damage the teammate would otherwise take will go to the Defender instead of said teammate, and be affected by the Defender's defenses. The Defender must be alive for "Redirect Damage" to have any chance of working. Since MAG does little for either defense or LP, however, bringing MAG to 50 for 50% Redirect Damage too early may not turn out to be a good plan. "Redirect Damage" increases at a better rate than "Block Rate" because though it can make the Defender a living Black Crystal for the rest of the team, the damage still hits at all, just a different target than intended. In the case that there are multiple Defenders with MAG on the team, each "Redirect Damage" will work separately, though when 2 (or more) trigger the Defender to take the damage will be decided randomly (each Defender will have an exactly 1 in (2/3/4) chance of taking the hit (depending how many "Redirect Damage"s trigger)).
